About Me
Hello! My name is Elizabeth Emerson, and I am a dedicated and passionate software development student at Capella University, where I am going into my fourth year pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology with a specialization in Software Development and a concentration in Web Development. I have maintained a stellar GPA of 3.976, reflecting my commitment to excellence in my academic pursuits.
Throughout my studies, I have gained a solid foundation in a variety of areas including Java programming, database systems, web development, software architecture, and information security. Courses such as "Java Application Development," "Software Construction," and "Database Administration" have equipped me with the skills necessary to tackle complex projects and develop robust applications.
In addition to my formal education, I am an enthusiastic self-learner. I actively engage in continuous learning through platforms like Sololearn, Codecademy, and ACI Learning, where I explore new technologies and programming languages. Currently, I am delving into the world of blockchain and cryptocurrency, working on a project to develop a coin flip game using Etheruem. I am also working on a blogging platform project, developing both the frontend and backend, which has been further enhancing my full-stack development skills.
Recently, I began my first developer internship at a SaaS company, where I am excited to apply my knowledge in a professional setting and gain hands-on experience in the industry. I'm currently working on the documentation, design, and development of a mobile employee tracking app, and although I have just started, I have already learned so much!
On a personal note, I recently got married at the breathtaking Grand Canyon, and to celebrate, my husband and I embarked on a 10-day cruise to Alaska, where we were captivated by the stunning wildlife and scenery. When I am not coding or exploring new technologies, I am at home with my three beloved dogs, chihuahua mixes, who bring endless joy to my life. Before pursuing a career in IT, I considered becoming a veterinary technician, driven by my love for animals, but I'm glad I chose software development as it allows me to combine my love for problem-solving with creativity.
